I think many on this forum who believe federalism promotes a government with more federal power or believe that Lincoln did not attack state's rights, limited government, and federalism read this article.

I visited the recommended site. The assertion contained in the very first paragraph is a joke.
"Had the South secured secession by force of arms, the Union would have been broken, the federal system disrupted."
The south merely exercised secession, which was their right. It was the north which aggressively used force to "preserve the union." The right of secession was intolerable to the north, so force was used to impose their will.
The statement completely ignores the fact that the union may have been preserved through other means and that slavery most certainly would have been vanquished without the War of Northern Agression.
In short, the end does not justify the means.
