CNN, BBC and Eurosport refuse to air Arad campaign
Turn down requests to air adds on missing navigator, after state and a foundation last week issued a $10 million reward for new information on his fate.

Three major international networks – The BBC, CNN and Eurosport – are refusing to air adds of the “Born to be Free” foundation for the release of missing IAF navigator Ron Arad.
Last week, the state and the foundation formally issued a 10 million dollar reward leading to either the return of Arad, or confirmation as to his ultimate fate. The state took this step after having concluded that it has exhausted all other means at its disposal.
Uri Hen, the foundation director, told NRG Maariv, “We turned to CNN, BBC and Eurosport in a request to air fully-paid adds but they refused”.
According to Hen, the BBC did not explain its decision. CNN, however, sent a letter to the foundation stating that the network does not air adds about political issues. Eurosport, says Hen, said it was a religious and political issue.
“Even the Lebanese newspaper “A-Safir”, which has close contacts with Hezbollah quoted the campaign. Al-Jazeera interviewed us and the al-Quds publication, which is not a great lover of Israel to say the least, agreed to put up huge adds”, Hen added.
“The Arab media did not hide behind political excuses. An Israeli pilot has been in captivity for 18 years and the campaign’s aim is to bring him home – there is absolutely nothing political about it”, he concluded.
Another foundation official defined the decision of the three networks as “purely anti-Semitic”. The foundation is currently examining the option of filing legal suit against the networks.
Last week, a special multi-lingual domain, www.10million.org has been set up, with full information regarding the prize. One of the languages is Farsi. The site has been advertised in major media outlets.
In addition to the Internet, a call center has been set up in Tel Aviv to process all incoming calls. The center has a London area number, to enable people from Iran to contact it. The center will operate 24 hours a day, and Persian speaking personnel will always be on duty.

So now CNN and the BBC feel a need to be more anti-Israel than even the Arabs. Let's block a humanitarian campaign, a paid one no less, because it's "political". Hmmmm....
Is it any wonder that people who trust CNN or BBC for their news have such distorted views of Israel and the Palestinians and the conflict?
How different it is. The Israelis love their young.
I see red and am literally speechless when I see idiocy of this magnitude.
I just wish they might have explained why trying to locate another human being, or wondering about his fate is a "political" issue.
If I say more, or express what I really feel, it may be a long time before I am allowed to post anything.
That occured to me too.
How long did we allow our entire embassy staff in Iran to be held hostage by "students"?

I hate it when you make me look things up.:) That was 444 days, but I would point out that it was done under the much less than effective Carter administration, and the hostages were released as soon as that clown left office.
The BBC doesn't show adverts
Further proof of why we cannot trust CNN, BBC and the Eurosport. CNNs excuse is almost laughable. AS if CNN has never aired any political add. Whatever losers! That is why FOX News is smoking your ratings. That is why CNN does not even have a top 10 news show.
BBC America most certainly does show advertisements. BBC also have third party ads on their websites.
