HARRISBURG, Pa. — The state American Civil Liberties Union (search) plans to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday against a Pennsylvania school district that is requiring students to learn about alternatives to the theory of evolution (search).
The ACLU said its lawsuit will be the first to challenge whether public schools should teach "intelligent design," which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by some higher power....

Sorry you and your cohorts feel that way. Nobody is asking that you stay. To be certain, you know what your talking about and feel that the more people have faith, the less they have progressed in their lives. I believe that since the majority of the conservative party believes as I do, it is clearly evident that the more faith people have, the wiser they become. BTW, majority still rules in this country, right?

I have faith as well, its just I do not see my faith as being in conflict with science. Its a false idea promoted by charlatans Hovind, Chick and the like.

Okay. I checked out the Bill of Rights and couldn't find the amendment these ACLU scumbags are referring to. However, I am pretty sure they may be referring to the First Amendment. Over the past twenty-five years or so the sneaky, athiest scumbags of the ACLU and the Democrat Party have taken advantage of the ignorant rabble (with great help from their allies in the rapidly-fading "old media") by fabricating a mythical "separation of church and state" (based on an old Hugo Black throwaway line) and then trying to convince them that it's in the First Amendment somewhere. It is, of course, not in there at all.
Just for reference purposes, here's the First Amendment. It tells Congress what kind of laws it cannot make. That's all it does. There's nothing about "separation of church and state" in here (as anybody with at least the literacy and IQ of Jethro Bodine can see):
AMENDMENT I
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
Just as I question the intellectual honesty of any scientist who excludes the possibility that a superior being, God, created the universe.
BTW, I have never believed that the theory of evolution necessarily disproves the existence of God though there are those on the left who have used it thusly, anymore than the belief in the possibility of intelligent life on other planets somehow disproves God's existence.
But there are wholes in evolution theory, which dissuade me from believing that the theory, by itself, is complete.
It has been years since I read about any of the theories discussed on this thread except in a very occasional article, and in order to have anything other than a most general and superficial conversation about the issue, it would require some reading to "refresh" my memory.
Even then, as there are many on these threads who have had years of in depth scientific education and study, my arguments would most likely be sorely lacking.
However, I will make one, very obvious point: if one does not believe in God, one will not believe in creationism. Therefore, by default, EVOLUTION is THE theory supported by atheists, who must be partial to it (which largely explains Christian suspicion and aversion to it.) This leads me to my final point, the existence of God as a theory, would likely not meet the "scientific" criteria for a theory either.
Man, I can't decide who I disdain more, the ACLU or the Luddites.

I don't see my faith in conflict with science either. I only heard of Hovind, so I can't comment on whether they are charlatans or not. I respect Hovind from what I know of him.
