HARRISBURG, Pa. The state American Civil Liberties Union (search) plans to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday against a Pennsylvania school district that is requiring students to learn about alternatives to the theory of evolution (search).
The ACLU said its lawsuit will be the first to challenge whether public schools should teach "intelligent design," which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by some higher power....

ACLU = dim bulbs
Whatever this (ID)is, it is not science.
Evolutionary theory has tons of (scientifically gathered) data to back it up.
Show me the tape.
Hold up... The ACLU is supporting a case that basically says that GOD created the Universe? Isn't that an Oxymoron? Or is that just Moronic?
If there was an act of creationisim, it came in the form of a rock from space with some form of RNA on it. Or was it the ACLU that did it? Must have been the ACLU, after all, they certainly SEE themselves as gods.
Sheesh.
If you want an idea of what it is, read Darwin's Black Box, by Michael Behe. Mr. Behe is a scientist, not a theologian.
The degenerates at the American Civil Liberties Union will tell you they are trying to make sure government doesn't favor one religion over another when they hunt down Boy Scouts meeting on public property like they were war criminals.
Meanwhile, the other side in this debate makes a pathetic defense of the Scouts and other victims of his radical secular jihad.
This isn't a conflict over whose view of the First Amendment is correct. It's a conflict in which one side is doing exactly what it accuses the other side of doing using the government to impose its religion and morality on others.
Let me tell you, there is no threat no threat at all that Christians or Jews will, any time soon, successfully impose their own divided faiths on anyone else with the help of the local, state or federal government. It just can't happen, not in the 21st-century, American socio-political climate.
And the ACLU knows this.
The ACLU is on offense, not defense.
The ACLU is not afraid of Christians. It knows they are easy, wimpy targets who don't fight back.
The ACLU doesn't really care about manger scenes, Ten Commandments monuments and other symbolic targets. Instead, they use these legal assaults to keep their enemies off-guard, on defense and from recognizing what the real agenda is.
What is the real agenda?
Well, I guess you could call it state-imposed, enforced, official atheism.
The ACLU and its allies actually don't mind their own belief system, their own "faith," their own religion being imposed through the government school systems. They don't mind that values and scientific theories in stark contrast to those of many Christians and Jews be endorsed by the state as holy writ. They don't mind that taxpayer treasuries are raided by judicial tyrants to support unconstitutional programs that violate the firmly held religious beliefs of tens of millions of Bible believers.
They don't mind any of these things. They love it. That's their goal. Their goal is to impose their will on the people through litigation and manipulation of a corrupt court system. They seek to strip the country and its people of all that made America great and different.
In short, they want to impose secular humanism as the official state religion not only in Washington, not only in all 50 states, but in every local town in America.
What is secular humanism?
Exacty. What If I want to use my "Civil Liberty" not to believe in evolution? Just because they have nothing productive to do, they have decided to tear down the beliefs that this country was founded on.
Merry Christmas! --That's Right! I said it! Try and stop me!
Please. Don't be one of those people that when I say "the sky is blue" you say "prove it".
If somebody shows you proof, people with your attitude say "it's junk science", or "they have an agenda".
Evolution happened. It doesn't have to shatter your faith.
So What is the scienfitic theory of ID? Sure would like to see someone answer this someday. What does it predict? How can we test it? Is it falsifiable?
I don't think they've framed that argument quite correctly.
It says that life on earth can be better explained as the work of an intelligent designer.
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas, Christmas. I wish one of those types would come around my house and start telling me how I cannot say that.
The earth is flat, too.
As if the ACLU is concerned about the private celebrations going on at your house.
Intelligent Design is the polar opposite of Darwinism. Since Darwinism effectively begins with the assumption that there is no "higher power", it has been all about trying to come up with a way in which all this life could have happened without divine intervention (since we're obviously all "here").
Nonetheless, they're right. ID is not a legitimate scientific theory; it's a poorly articulated and vague sentiment that 'Someone must have done it (nudge nudge, wink wink, we know who Someone is, notice I used upper case)'. It's nothing more than a Trojan Horse for creationism.
