Dreaming of a white (and red and blue) Christmas The lament is oft-heard that Christmas is too commercial, but what about too political? The Blue Christmas project allows shoppers to direct their holiday consumerism to retailers who politically agree with them. It details contributions by companies and their employees (over $200) and PACs (over $5,000). The idea is to get Democrats to "buy blue," but since both parties' contributions are listed, consumers are free to decide for themselves which party is naughty and which one nice. It also provides some interesting insights. For instance, it's no shock that Wal-Mart skews Republican while both Borders and Barnes & Noble overwhelmingly favor Democrats. But who would have thought that 88% of union-busting Jet Blue's contributions go to Dems? Or that Hyatt and Marriott are political opposites, despite having similar interests? And what does it mean that Guiness' importer is blue, but Bushmills Irish whiskey's is red? (Hal Cohen)
Looks like we have more places to shop. But we're a little low on entertainment.
Certainly useful in reverse.
Bed Bath & Beyond just lost a good customer.

I would have. They buy French engines instead of American ones.
Most major chains are heavy Republican donors. Shop smaller, local, independent grocery stores if possible.
HEEHEEHEE,HOHOHO.......
And I bought a Borders gift certificate this year to AVOID a Barnes and Noble one. Geez!
Not next year!
