Just about nobody except Tom Tancredo is with 75-80% of the population on this one.

Tancredo went back on his word. He signed a pledge to observe term limits. He reneged on his word.

Furthermore, he hired an illegal alien to do his driveway. When he was caught, he came up with the same excuse of corporate America. "See, we didn't know. We hired a contractor." Of course, if he had bothered to hire a company who actually pays high wages, he wouldn't have bothered with a cheap outfit using illegal aliens.

Similarly, he raised money for an illegal alien to appease the local press, after getting painted as mean-spirited by wanting to deport a brilliant college student identified as an illegal alien by the local press.

Tancredo is a demagogue, IMHO.

Tancredo didn't hire an illegal alien to do his driveway. He hired a contractor to do his driveway. It's the contractor's responsibility to abide by state and federal employment laws when hiring workers. And who asks a contractor how much he pays his workers? If I was a contractor and a customer asked me that question, I'd tell them that it was none of their business what I pay my workers.
