Hollywood Foreign Press Association today failed to nominate Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" in any categories for its Golden Globes, which often forecast the race for the Academy Awards. Instead the group nominated another biopic for best drama: "Kinsey," which whitewashes sex researcher Alfred Kinsey's interest in pedophilia.
Also nominated for best movie drama: "The Aviator," starring Bush-bashing actor Leonardo DiCaprio; "Closer," starring Bush-bashing actresses Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman; "Finding Neverland," starring Bush-bashing actor Johnny Depp; "Million Dollar Baby," starring Bush-bashing actress Hillary Swank; and "Hotel Rwanda," about the African genocide that Bill Clinton and U.N. boss Kofi Annan did nothing to stop.
Nominated for best movie comedy or musical: "The Incredibles," "Ray," "Sideways," "Phantom of the Opera" and the tedious "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Among the anti-Bush actors and actresses who received nominations from the small and obscure but powerful HFPA: Roberts, Swank, Depp, DiCaprio, Portman, Annette Bening, Ashley Judd, Renee Zellweger, Laura Linney and Meryl Streep. Noted conservatives nominated: zero, but libertarian-leaning Clint Eastwood did get recognized for directing "Million Dollar Baby."
The one bit of good news: HFPA finally stopped nominating the increasingly crummy Democrat fantasy series "The West Wing" in the television categories.
Hollwood is the democrat church, and these dimwitted "stars" are their idols.
The reality is that the majority if not all of hollywoods acters and actresses are not the brightest people in the world. In fact most of them haven't finnished grade school.
They then get detached from reality and live in an alternate reality, Hollywood's secret society. Drinking and smoozing and an assortment of pills and nose candy.
Pathetic.
"The Passion of the Christ" is the only adult DVD our family owns (outside of movies we buy for the kids).
The Incredibles was the last of a series of movies that Pixar was obligated by contract to make movies for Disney. That contract has since expired and wasn't renewed.
Pixar had a contract to produce for Disney.
No Longer.
No, it is not. Pixar is an independent film studio, founded by a grup of people including Apple founder Steve Jobs. They merely have a contract with Buena Vista, the distribution arm of Disney, Inc., to distribute their films. That contract has already been set to be terminated after the release of "Cars."
However, I did specify "Disney STUDIOS" to prevent confusion between studios and distributors, since Pixar studios does use Disnsey's distributor.
Which may be what Hollyweird is looking to do. They're releasing this extreme left-wing filth like Kinsey hoping it will spark outrage and boycotts from the "hayseeds" in the Red States. This outrage is then used to generate buzz to stimulate a larger box office take from the "progressives" in the Blue States and (most importantly) in Europe.
These studios are probably expecting (and may be even hoping) that the movies lose money here in the US, only to more than make up for that loss overseas. They'd consider domestic losses to be marketing for their true audience. That way they get to make the perverted, lying garbage they like, and laugh at us rubes all the way to the bank.

why include this? enjoyable flick. Nick Cage hilarious and you get to see him beat someone until their brains leak out and Willem DeFoe's head get blown off.
I wasn't doing a scientific study of which movies were most controversial, just looking up names of movies which I remember massive protests about. It is possible I had it partly confused with Wild Orchid.
What, "Alexander" isn't on the list?! I'm shocked, shocked!
1) Entertainment Tonight is stinky, low-brow television. Don't bother to watch it---it's badly produced, the interviews are just plain stupid, and no one says anything worthwhile. Pick up a good book for a half hour instead.
2) Personally, if a film is good or an actor/director is worth seeing, I will applaud that person's efforts outside of his/her political views. If I disagree with that person's views, I simply disagree----I don't usually boycott his/her work. The only exception for me is Woody Allen---I think he's a genius, but his slimeball personal life is too much for me to get past, so I simply don't see his films anymore. Woody is now dead to me. Pick your own villains and act accordingly. Conversely, I'm not sure where Joan Baez is politically anymore (though I can likely guess); still, I bought her last CD which is beautiful.
3) We can't expect nominations for films just because they're made by people we agree with politically. If you don't agree with the awards ceremonies, don't watch them. I usually don't. Frankly, I haven't seen the recent Clint Eastwood film mentioned; however, remember that he WAS roundly nominated for "Mystic River." He can't be nominated all the time--nobody is.
4) If you have the connections or money or talent to get films, CDs or books made, do so! Support those artists you belive in, in every way you can.

I had heard they were planning to stick around after The Incredibles but that's just hearsay. Actually Pixar started life as the special effects division of George Lucas's ILM. He sold it to Steve Jobs as part of his divorce settlement in the early 1980s.
Mark my words. Fahrenheit 911 will win best picture at the Oscars.
