Their thread is just starting and they are starting to feel that queasy feeling of defeat!

They're -just now- starting to feel that? Those folks are drooling idiots.

Since the electors are selected by thae party, why would they select an elector who hates the party's candidate?

It is possible that an elector could vote differently than his/her state, but in practice it is infrequent. Seems like the 1948 election was the last time that any serious # of votes were cast in a manner different from the state (Strom Thurmond's run for Prez as a Dixiecrat).

As bubba & michigander pointed out, some states have laws requiring the elector to vote w/ the state. Those laws, however, are of questionable constitutionality - the Constitution (and Framers) didn't anticipate political parties the way we have them now, and fully expected the electors to use their best judgment to elect the Prez & VP.

TWO electors are not present.
They much now nominate and approve two more electors.
Nominated and seconded...the vote and the AYES have it...

Mr Bowman is now elected Temporary Chair.

Wonder where those two electors were?

Of course they'll throw it out. There's a VRWC led by the omnipotent Karl Rove. The DUer's are powerless against the Rovester, yet they shall fight the good fight ;)

AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

They don't. The occasional "unfaithful" elector slips through but for the most part they are loyal servants of the party that named them to the slate and they take their duty seriously.

Yeah, the first week it was kinda sad but funny. Then just funny. Now I don't think it's funny anymore. It's like J.J. and Arnbeck are dangling a porkchop above rabid dogs just to get them in a frenzy so that they will go out and kill. It's just creepy now.

"Since the electors are selected by thae party, "

That may explain it. Perhaps they are an elector for the Constitution party? I just heard them say they were an elector.

I fear one of them is going to attempt something rash when they realize all is lost for Kerry.

It's not just the loons over at the DU .. you should read the comments from the Daily Kos .. they are off the deep end also

The way the left is handling this gives a whole new meaning to kool aide drinkers

Sec Blackwell just made a funny .. He says he hears c-span will be doing an exit poll

The republican party members would have to be all idiots to select an elector from another party.

Any elector that doesn't vote the way the selecting party indented would have no future in that party.
