Here's my guess:

The Anti-Gang course was done by a religious group and included a lot of the typical hype of Satanism and included their ideas of "Satanic" material, including this calendar that they did themselves, and it got left in the material he handed out.

Well, THAT'S not only ridiculous, it's a despicable & outrageous attack on "religious groups" AKA Christians. NO Christian group would craft such a thing. If you were referring to Druids, Goth Cults, or Wiccans as religious groups, then say so. BTW, those are NOT religous groups...they are sacreligous. In either case, NO police department would authorize one of their employees to hand out something like this unless it was meant to be used to educate parents on what sort of things to look for in their children's cluttered rooms that would tip them off that their kids are involved in cult or gang activity. This cop needs to be fired...not on paid admin. leave, not suspended...FIRED! And the police dept. better pray that they don't get sued.

and funded by a grant from the federal government. Our tax dollars at work. Never underestimate the stupidity of government funded special interests. Our tax dollars fund all sorts of ridiculous, or wasteful, and even harmful things.

typical hype of Satanism

One might not believe in Satan but, Satanists exist. And, they leave traces of their activities. Curiously, the nation with the highest percentage in the population is Italy, although Bulgaria may still be on the rise. If you travel along the main north-south highway from the austrian border to Brindisi, nearly every rest stop has their markings on it.
