Unbelievable. Every day has new surprises. I can't believe how fast we are spiraling downward.

Spoken like someone who doesn't care enough to understand what he is talking about.
Ever heard of Abraham?
Jews, Christians and Muslims are all of the same faith...My travels in the middle east may have slanted my understanding, but to me it is all cult warfare plain and simple.
Shalom to you too.

Have you bothered to read the New Testament?
Yes, I have. I have also read the Quran and the gospel of Thomas the Twin, both the Egyptian and the Greek.
Are you familiar with Thomas?

He was a worshiper of Thor.
Lol...Maybe true, but that sure doesn't sound very Aryan. It really doesn't matter. I could post quotes from Catholic bishops who made speaches and gave sermons supporting Hitler. Those are all part and parcel of the historical record. Hitler claimed to be Catholic, that is history. He attended mass at the Marine Chapel and his favorite photograph of himself is the one of him in front of the Marine Chapel with the rays of light shining around his head. I have the photo. I can scan and post it if you can't find it online.
I am not claiming Christianity is evil. It could even be said that Hitler wasn't evil, he was insane. But...Good, decent, God fearing German Christians voted him into office and let a lunatic lead them into hell.

Lets not start a quote war here...You would not like that. I am very familiar of what the founders thought and believed. Jefferson was a Deist. He improved the King James Bilble by editing out the crap. He considered Jesus a great Jewish teacher, but held no respect for the religion founded in his name. Read the Jefferson Bible.

"It clearly was a mistake," said Renea Ivy, Pearland ISD spokesperson. "We don't want it to happen again and so it was not done with malice, it was not done to promote satanism in any way on the campus. It was just a mistake."
No kidding Ms. Ivy...Mistake???
You're right...It won't happen again, until the oversight you put on the program starts to wane again...
Not done with malice??? You need to submit for a drug screen for that comment...
What do you think it "really" was done to promote??? Easter??? Oh I forgot, Spring holidays...
Again...No kidding it was a mistake...Stop making excuses!
(personal comment...)
Actually they can't even get Satanism correct...Take a look at the picture in the article...The "star" is not even oriented or drawn correctly...Stupid idea to begin with, implemented with equally stupidity...I thought Pearland ISD had a little more going on than the average school district...
Its ok to promote or discuss Satanism with no oversight or balance...
But you mention God, Jesus Christ or our country's founding documents inspired by Christian moral principles...And you get the n'th degree of hell for doing so...
Hypocracy run amok...again...

What you just said has absolutely noting to do with moral absolutes or the quote I posted.
"In which all religions agree."
I think that's pretty clear.

After Hitler came to power, he kicked out all kinds of church leaders and installed pro-Nazis in their place. Why don't you read the link I posted to "The Pink Swastika" and inform yourself?
There's an article on FR called, IIRC, "Hitler's Library". Hitler apparently thought he was an incarnation of God. Does that sound like Christianity to you?
Hitler was evil. If any "decent God fearing Christians" voted for him, they were at that time stupid, not very understanding of the religion they supposedly professed, or perhaps coerced. But someone who understands Jesus' teachings and follows them would abhor Hitler and everything he stood for.
Having a label "Christian" pinned on one's lapel doesn't mean squat.

ROFL!
YES...It sounds like every prophet who's come down the pike. Do you know the meaning of In God We Trust? You claim to know how our founders thought, so you should have the answer to that one.

Agree with your thoughts on keeping state out of homeschooling Actually, I was talking about a concerned parent who thought she herself might need watching.
- however I have seen some parents who are doing a sloppy on/off job of homeschooling - so....which is best - an official agency to test or deal with more uneducated young people?
I'll answer that one if you answer this one.

When the officials show they are the least bit competent, I might consider your question to be valid.
Shalom.

Ever heard of Abraham? Abraham: Name means "Father of nations." Name changed from Abram after he finally had a child by his lawful wife. Considered to be the father of both the Arabs via his bastard son Ishmael and the Jews via his son Isaac.
Jews, Christians and Muslims are all of the same faith...
Again, spoken like someone who has no idea what he's talking about. You may have glanced at some externals, but you haven't evidenced the least credibility at knowing what is under the covers.
My travels in the middle east may have slanted my understanding, but to me it is all cult warfare plain and simple.
Have whatever opinion you want.

Are you familiar with Thomas? Yes, if you mean the so-called Gospel of Thomas. Dan Rather would have been also. It was a self-evident forgery put forth centuries after Christ had died so the Gnostics could claim some authenticity. The Church recognized the forgery immediately and rejected it out-of-hand. That didn't keep adherents from popping up, however.<
Shalom.

This is not an accident. The school authorities should loose their jobs as well as the cop.

You can't argue with me. I don't care if you are the original author of your post. I consider the other words to be crap and the quote above to be the truth. Who are you to say differently?
All you have done was demonstrate that Jefforson wasn't perfect. He was, however, smart enough to recognize some fundamental truths of the moral law. That was the point of LJ's quote and you didn't begin to deal with it.

Just look at the odds. Why would we want the public sector to want to oversee home education? So they can do the same thing to it they have done to public education?
Yes, some children will fall through the cracks in home schooling. How many fall through in public schools? And when George W. Bush tried to make the schools accountable for how well the students learned you heard the hue and cry.
No, there is no reason to create any kind of public entity to oversee homeschooling.
Shalom.

***Yes, some children will fall through the cracks in home schooling. How many fall through in public schools?***
Not in defense of public schools, I will say one more thing. I do volunteer literacy classes at our local public schools and I see firsthand the ones who fall through the cracks. For most of these students, it is the parents' disinterest that places them "in the cracks". No one at home cares enough to even listen to them read. These families do not interact with the teachers or the schools.
If anyone really cares about the public schools, I suggest they take themselves to the nearest school and volunteer instead of complaining.
To: daybreakcoming
For most of these students, it is the parents' disinterest that places them "in the cracks". You make my point for me. You don't need public officials watching parents who want to home school. Parent involvement is the primary determining factor in whether a child will do well and home-schooling already has that.
Shalom.

One time, years ago, I had to take a Greyhound trip, and a woman in the station was reading a Bible backwards, mumbling to herself. It was very, very weird. Maybe she was reading Torah.
