Velikovsky is the worst kind of psuedo-science. The idea that the major planets of the solar system were the product of astronomical collisions is not only fanciful, but also unsupported. Continuing planetary observation is accumulating evidence upon evidence that the planets just did not form that way...

The scientific community now, and always has, found Velikovsky to be laughable and worthless.
