Well, that is a far cry from the little blunt-nosed scissors we used in school when I was 10. Wonder why she felt she needed to bring these to school? It's way harsh for police to handcuff the girl. But, I wonder if there's more to this story than is apparent on the surface.

This is a perfect example of how public school officials are paralyzed by political correctness into a one size fits all system of discipline for children. Out of fear of parental lawsuits they design a disciplinary scheme that is applied the same way to each and every student regardless of the consequences of such application.
It's incredibly similar to the mandatory minimums for adult offenders. There are a tremendous number of NON-VIOLENT inmates in America's prisons who are guilty of essentially victimless crimes. The "THREE STRIKES YOU'RE OUT" mentality that years or decades later puts people who have reformed their lives behind bars for a third and essentially minor nonviolent offense. THIS KIND OF AUTOMATON JUSTICE makes me want to barf !!!

I think its time to have a few principals perp walked out of some of the schools in handcuffs and waist chains just to send a message we are tired of our children being abused by people we pay to teach them.

This has gone too far, and a pencile could be pronounced just as dangerous as anthing else.
