Buying <STRIKE>Blue</STRIKE> Red "an act more powerful than voting"
BuyBlue.org ^ | NA | NA

[SUBSTITUTE RED FOR BLUE AND WE'RE GOLDEN]

Our goal here is to provide you information on who gave what to what political party this last election cycle. There are many factors which will eventually pertain to the "Blue-approved" label, however with buying season upon us, we quickly wanted to give people SOMETHING to go off of. Political donations and their effects are but one of many factors we will look at when a company is taken into consideration. We understand that there are Blue-contributors which have less than savory business practices, and we will be focusing on "the big picture" in the coming weeks.

Sometimes there is just no choice as to who to can buy from and we wholeheartedly encourage buying from local and independent businesses wherever and whenever possible. The long term goal is to help reduce corporate money from politics; this is not a geographical boycott.

A liberal friend of mine sent this site out on an email list. I want to thank buyblue.org for doing some good work for the red stater shoppers!

(my first post, forgive any irregularities)

Ping

Thanks for the post. I'm happy to know most of my purchases have already been from predominately "red" businesses.

If you want to see what they really think of the red states, go to www.f*ckthesouth.com (they don't use a * though). A lot of hatred.

On the plus side, my local paper has an article saying Foot Locker is in bankruptcy. Serves them right.

There's more of us than there are of them, so it should only help us out more. Good idea.

I sent a note to Hannity about his "all-time favorite place", The Sharper Image, being a RAT-infested supporter at 93%. Ten bucks says he remains their radio shill.

The long term goal is to help reduce corporate money from politics; this is not a geographical boycott.

Problem 1: If the "goal is to help reduce corporate money from politics" why are they sorting by (or even indicating) party? They obviously want to "reduce" Republican money from politics. And what's with their grammar, anyway? Publik skule stoodintz or sumthing?

Problem 2: Why is it that individuals are acceptable contributors but corporations not so, in their view? Corporations are in many ways legally viewed as "persons", so why not for contribution purposes.

I'm not saying they don't have a right, just as conservatives do, to try to help those they agree with and hurt those they think are wrong, but they're just so deceitful and self-righteous about it.

As long as their side 'prevails' they dont care what happens.
If this nation was a ship, they would steer into a storm as long as it was the direction they chose...
It's the 'our side can do no wrong',
'their side can do no good' mindset the 'blue left' has adopted.
Which can only lead to more defeat for them.

Good!

Absoutely hillarious stuff! I was laughing so hard my sides were hurting. Lot more than hatred there; there's some serious mentall illness lurking behind those words.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Thanks for posting this. I love lists like this -- they do all the work, and I get to use their work for my own purposes. And it encourages me to spend more at Wal Mart and (in the future) nothing at Bed Bath & Beyond.

It's a shame that Whole Foods is so solidly Democrat -- not that I didn't figure they would be. A few months ago I found some "End the Embargo on Cuba" brand coffee on their shelves, featuring a colorful, Andy Warhol-style picture of Che Guevara on the package, and complained about them selling coffee that glorifies a Communist thug responsible for the murder of many and the enslavement of an entire island. LOL. Of course, they looked at me like I was crazy.

If you want to see what they really think of the red states, go to www.f*ckthesouth.com (they don't use a * though).

Two things occurred to me as I skimmed through the first page of the site:

1. They seem to forget that five of the original thirteen colonies were southern (if you count Maryland as southern).

2. If they didn't use a certain word beginning with "f," they'd have little to say and even less to say it with.

Excellent! Thanks. I keep a mental list as I hear about companies but this helps. I'll send it out to others.

My thoughts exactly... I'm from Southern MD, and the North would have had a heck of a time keeping us if they had let the south go I think! Besides which, how many of the founding fathers were Virginian?

Thanks for the heads up! I just got finished revising my Christmas list - of course, scratching out any and all "blues" and replacing them with "reds". Two can play this game! (Emailing and spreading the word, too, to all my "red" friends!)
