No I am using every common sense argument to assure Property owners can dictate that armed people not be permitted on their property.'Common sense arguments'. Hmmm. Where have I heard that phrase before.
OH YEAH! I remember. 'Common sense gun control'!!

Dear MontanaCowgirlCop,
"So could my boss say that I own a pickup and they are gas-guzzlers and so therefore I may not park it there?"
I believe that foreign-made vehicles were prohibited from the parking lots of certain American automakers for a time.
If you live in a state with a strong at-will employment doctrine, your employer could forbid you from wearing red to work, or from wearing long hair and earrings (if you're a man). Unless it can be interpreted by a judge that your employer has violated the protections of the law for race, religion, color of skin, gender, or nationality of origin.

Right, go to your local federal court house and walk in armed, then post me again from your jail cell. Now grow up!

Yes I'm afraid any person who thinks he has a "right" to be armed on my preoperty is indeed a LOONY!!!!!!!!And I think anyone who thinks he can deny a constitutional right because he owns a piece of land is a loony.
Case-in-point: By your logic, you could own slaves because that little bit of land is deeded to you.
You might deny someone the right to be on your land outright, but after you have granted someone the right to be on your land, the constitution pertains.

Which is the crime that he will land in jail for? The carrying the gun, trespassing, or shooting you? Carrying the gun does not equal shooting.

Once again when defeated with the facts and common sense the yahoos cry "gun grabber" ;LOL

Right, go to your local federal court house and walk in armed, then post me again from your jail cell.I can agree with court-restrictions on firearms. That is the only restriction I can agree with, and only because justice is being meted out there.
Now grow up!
What a ween.

Where's the common sense in banning guns from locked cars?
262 jones
A locked car is only locked until a pissed off or unstable employee goes out and unlocks it. Hope this isn't too confusing for you.
265
Not confusing at all. Common sense tells me you will use any excuse to justify disarming employees.
268 jones
Correct as a business owner I will indeed use any excuse to disarm employees, since I have decided only myself and my employees who are also my relations may be armed on my property.
It all boils down to the yahoos and gun slingers who think that since they went through all that trouble of procuring a CCW, they should have carte blanc to carry wherever they wish......gee too bad. Since I have no clue of the level of training an employee , or patron that has a CCW , and since many CCW courses are a laughable joke, I will not permit armed folk on my property, unless they are my relatives.
272
Fine, you explained your attitude about yahoos & gunslingers.

The concept of preventing armed folk in private businesses has been around pre Constitution, and post Constitution, and only since the 13th amend was passed A private owner could have slaves. You need to understand the concept of private property "COMRADE"

Dera jonestown,
1. My name isn't "Sarah." ;-)
2. I haven't offered much of an opinion as to what ought to be, only what is.
3. It's too bad that you can't carry on a civil dialogue with someone with whom you disagree without literally name-calling.

Having a gun in a locked car is not my employer's business. Now, if I carry it on my person into the office, that's a different issue.

As do you. The business owners property STOPS at the tarmac. From the rubber on up is MY private property.
Your fear of law abiding citizens carrying around firearms may be a symptom of a pathological paranoia. I suggest consulting your Yellow Pages for psychiatric help.

"No power trip, just common sense."Your example shows a valid reason why an employer would have interest in after hours activities of an employee - when it has a direct impact on the employer. But in many cases, employers have gone way too far.
