yea, I guess this punishment is correct, loss of pay, reduced in rank to private, dishonorable discharge... All for shooting a man that was going to die anyhow... In my book thats is HONORABLE, and it would have been dishonorable to have sat and watched and laughed while the Iraqi died... He got screwed by the system, plain and simple..

I don't want to see euthanasia of prisoners become a part of US military doctrine

He got hit a lot harder than that unfortunately - "A U.S. soldier was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to killing a severely wounded Iraqi teenager, the military said Saturday. Staff Sgt. Johnny M. Horne Jr., 30, of Winston-Salem, N.C., also received a reduction in rank to private, forfeiture of wages and a dishonorable discharge."
