The fight will be in the Republican primaries. Either Hillary or Dean would capture the Dem ones.

The problem is that our strongest candidates nationally appeal very little to the hardcore Republican primary voters.

I have no doubt that Guiliani could win a national election. I don't think he can win a Republican primary battle unless nobody is contesting him. So could McCain. So could Schwarzenegger if it were possible.

There is no heir-apparent conservative. At least not yet. And I don't want to hear any objections from the TANCREDO FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!! crowd.
