Paul Volcker’s "Independent" Inquiry Committee into the Oil-for-food program should be cancelled.

Canada Free Press has discovered potential conflict of interest number two against Volcker, the man handpicked last April by United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan for the task of investigating the Iraq oil-for-food scandal.

On the payroll as an attorney with Volcker’s Independent Inquiry Committee is Miranda Duncan. Duncan, who worked for UNICEF, is David Rockefeller’s granddaughter. It was Rockefeller money that built the UN’s Manhattan headquarters.

The article's two "conflicts of interest" seem to be pretty dubious.
  1. Volker served on the International Advisory Board of a company whose CEO is a director of a French Oil Company.
  2. Miranda Duncan, a lawyer for the Committee, once worked for UNICEF and is David Rockefeller's daughter.

Paul Volker has had a distinguished career of public service to the United States. I would hate to see Volker's reputation tarnished by people's desire to see Annan go down.

Some record the White House backs - and this is only one failure under the guys term - The oil for food issue also cost lives -

You're bound to develop relationships with high-powered people in the professional circles Mr. Volcker has moved in, and I agree his career was a distinguised one. The reporter's main point is that he did not declare the potential conflicts, and asks some valid questions.

We don't know all the facts yet, but my thought is: Maybe he's been in the old boy's club too long.
