In an odd sort of way, I've always felt sorry for Tyson. He's clearly only barely able to function in society, and cannot do so on his own. He's mentally retarded, and that's not a judgement, it's an observation. He literally only has the intellect of a nine year old, or less.
He's been totally used by the people around him for his entire life. This, because he has a fist that can punch with the force of a Mack Truck.
When Larry Holmes fought Tyson, Tyson knocked him out in 5 rounds.
After the fight Holmes was interviewed and during the course of the interview said two things that I remember:
Oh, well.....he knocked me out but I got 3 million.
( Referring to Tyson, ) he said, "He's going to wind up in prison."
I guess he had inside info or knew Tyson better than most.
From my perspective, just as soon as his adoptive father died I knew it would be all downhill for him then. That man was a controlling and positive influence for him.
