Income tax delinquents on Web site (Dick Morris ranks near top of state list)
Danbury News Times ^ | 2004-12-08 | Karen Ali

Redding resident Richard "Dick" Morris, who was former President Clinton's chief campaign adviser, is one of the state's top income tax delinquents. Morris, of Beeholm Road, West Redding, owes the state $289,200, making him seventh on the list of the state's worst 100 tax delinquents. That amount includes interest and penalties.

The list of the top 100 is on the state Department of Revenue Services Web site, www.ct.gov/drs. It is updated monthly.

The state's worst delinquent is Thomas Mae, a South Windsor man, who owes about $617,100 in income taxes, interest and penalties.

The top 100 are all at least 90 days behind in paying their taxes.

The department staff puts delinquents on the list as a "last resort," said Sarah Kaufman, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Revenue Services.

Morris resigned from his job as Clinton's adviser in 1996 amid an alleged sex scandal. The tabloid The Star broke the story, saying he had a year-long affair with a call girl, with whom he discussed White House business. The woman, who sold her story to The Star, said she met Morris weekly at a Washington hotel located directly across from the White House.

Also on the list is Danbury personal injury lawyer Alan Barry, who owes $60,950.

Neither Barry nor Morris could be reached for comment this week.

The other two Danbury people on the list are Robert Banks of Dogwood Drive, who owes $41,450 and Francis Matamoro of Newtown Road, who owes $44,300.

Banks and Matamoro were not listed in Danbury's phone directory.

What a BS way of intimidating people.

Income taxes should be abolished for a more fair and simple consuption/sales tax.

All true...and none of which can possibly be the reason for his 'resignation'.

In the RAT world, especially the Clin-toon RAT world, this would be resume enhancement.

Wonder what the real reason was??

In the meantime, Little Dick Morris would do well to "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's."

Maybe ol' Morris can work it off by sucking on the Comptrollers toes.

Morris has done a good job of supporting Bush on the WOT.

He's owned up to his problems, and he did a fantastic job in producing the movie "Farenhype 9/11" ; a movie that debunks all of Michael Moore's crap, and put the onus on Clinton for the intell problems that lead up to 9/11.

Anyone that does that, is going to make himself a a target by the liberals.

And anyone that gets a kick out of Morris being made a target is into *shadenfraude*- the feeling of pleasure someone gets from another's misfortune or suffering.

"Anyone that does that, is going to make himself a a target by the liberals"

Of which Connecticut has an ample supply.

He's owned up to his problems ... Anyone that does that, is going to make himself a a target by the liberals.

If he's owned up to his problems, I trust he doesn't blame them on "the liberals" (especially those liberals and/or problems of his own making).

And anyone that gets a kick out of Morris being made a target is into *shadenfraude*- the feeling of pleasure someone gets from another's misfortune or suffering.

When it comes to making targets, I'm sure Little Dick is well acquainted with the concept of, "what goes around, comes around." If some of us choose to derive no pleasure from his misfortunes, let's also make it clear that we find it hard to, shall we say, "feel his pain."

I'm with you FBD. Dick Morris may have been a PAST advisor to Billigula and the Hildabeast, but he has been doing anything and everything possible to expose the Clintons for what they are, he is no longer a friend of Democrats, and while I have no doubt that he remains a liberal, he has worked tirelessly to show support for President Bush, he hammered away at Kerry during the campaign, and in my eyes, any past political sins are entirely forgiven. He has redeemed himself and I would be happy to shake his hand.

Indeed. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I suspect (as other posters do) that this listing of Morris on some tax delinquent web page is a lame attempt to smack Morris down for daring to leave the 'Rat Reservation.

exactly.

This is like the Florida prosecuter going after Rush Limbaugh.
And I've noted quite a few libertarian types arounf here getting a sick kick out of the invasion of El Rusbos privacy with the raid on his doctors office, and public releases from his medical records.
Weird.

>"If he's owned up to his problems, I trust he doesn't blame them on "the liberals"<

-I haven't heard him blame anyone else for his personal (or tax) problems...have you? And unlike Clinton, he not only owned up to them, he went and got counseling for his sexual proclivities.

>"To When it comes to making targets, I'm sure Little Dick is well acquainted with the concept of, "what goes around, comes around." If some of us choose to derive no pleasure from his misfortunes, let's also make it clear that we find it hard to, shall we say, "feel his pain."<

- To my knowlege, Morris wasn't a part of the Billary Goon squad; he wasn't the guy out there spreading dirt on Klinton's enemies. (IE: Betsy Wright/ Jack Palledino, et al)

My point is this: making a list of people who are behind on their taxes, is a form of intimidation, just as the case with Limbaughs medical records. Regardless of how much of a hypocrit that might make Rush...or Morris.

>"If some of us choose to derive no pleasure from his misfortunes, let's also make it clear that we find it hard to, shall we say, "feel his pain."<

And it's not a question of sympathy, really.
I look at it this way, if it can to them, then it can happen to me, to my friends, or to my family...

Watch the movie; Farenhype 9/11, I think you'll find Morris has come a long way from his days with the Klintons
