Romney and Severin? Go figure
Boston Globe ^ | December 8, 2004 | SCOT LEHIGH

Posted on 12/08/2004 6:54:19 AM PST by Semper Paratus

NO FIGURE, not even that towering statesman Pat Buchanan, looms larger in Jay Severin's pantheon of heroes than the WTKK talkmeister himself. And so on Friday, Severin was awash in a double dose of self-delight, holding forth not just about the preternatural political insight he believes himself to possess but about his appearance as well.

Noting that he was dressed in a tuxedo, Jay informed his listeners that a tux was really semi-formal wear and that tails once marked a true gentleman's formal attire. But that, he lamented, was back before society's standards -- indeed, etiquette itself -- had been cheapened and coarsened. Which is where the whole spiel began to strike me as odd -- as odd as, say, Bacchus lamenting an erosion of sobriety.

After all, Severin is to gentlemanly standards what the Vandals were to Rome. He has called Al Gore "Al Whore" and said Gore "would murder his daughter" to become president; he has labeled Hillary Clinton "a lying bitch"; and has stated that mere impeachment wasn't enough for Bill Clinton, whom he labeled "a traitor." He once said that Michael Dukakis should be `'executed." Ridiculing Arabs as "towelheads" is one favored trope, labeling illegal immigrants "wetbacks" another.

I did a google search on Scott Lehigh and Michael Moore figuring he would be just as outraged at prominent 'rats sucking up to him but found no documents linking them.

Scott Lehigh has had it out for Jay Severin for a couple of years now.

I bet Jay is delighted with the PR from the "Boston Fabricator". This one article will give him plenty of material.

Indeed, as near as I can tell, Jay's success in the radio world proves the old adage that in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king

So true...Massachusetts is totally blind because of the completely biased reporting by the Globe. Great to have ol' one-eye Jay around to help out a bit as the bloodsuckers at the Globe try to catch us.

So here's a word to the wise: Governor, if you spend your evenings with the likes of Severin, don't expect intelligent people to respect you in the morning.

More tolerance from they who would be our superiors if we were only smart enough to realize their superiority. The only thing missing is a proclamation that Liberals are "ze Master Race."

I laugh whenever I hear the name "Jay Severin." Severin was at Vassar College the same time I was there in the 70's . Only back then, he was an Italian smalltown boy from Poughkeepsie, New York whose real name was "Jimmy Severino." He was obsessed with image and was a social climber. Even though he didn't go to a prep school, he wore the uniform of a preppie - pink polo shirts with the collar turned up. Upon being introduced to someone new, his first question was always "Are you a preppy ?"

Good to see he is still interested in sartorial matters..

FYI - he predicted Kerry would win the election.

FYI - he predicted Kerry would win the election.

I remember that. He claimed to have particluar knowledge that Bush was going to close, and it was nothing more than the phony exit poll we all saw on Drudge.

Severin is a Buchanon conservative not a neo-con.

He says the the moment we couldn't find WMDs it was time to pull out of Iraq. Meaning...Our warriors are trained to kill people and break things not build schools in the foolish hope that the Iraqis will like us.

The neo-cons are trying to build Arizona in Iraq and it will never happen.

Severin was looking at the same polling data that Drudge had and Republican operatives were grousing about on that fateful Tuesday afternnon.

I disagree with him, too, but be clear...he is not a spokesman nor a cheerleader for the neo-con wing of the Republican party. There's no kool-aid drinking from 3-7pm on WTKK in Boston...that's what NPR is for.
