I do realize that the US Army was on a mission, but what happened to Custer was nothing less than a slaughter of men.

Custer’s men were slaughter by defenders. They were the aggressors. Those slaughtered were all military men.
Wounded Knee was different. The Army was again the aggressor, and slaughtered 350 innocent men, women, and little children. 18 troopers received the Medal of Honor for this action – retaliation for the Little Big Horn action.
