SEVENTY-FIVE??

Only 75 House members had the brains and guts enough to oppose this crap?

a giant fu-fah-rah if you ask me. Or you could take the panic stricken stance of some of these dum a** 911 families who are acting like this bill is the only thing that will stand in the way of the next attack (nvm the fact we have successfully decapitated Al-Qaida while preventing another terrorist attack without this pointless shuffling).

"We have come a long way toward taking steps that will ensure that we do not see another September 11th," said House Rules chairman David Dreier, R-Calif. Now "we have in place a structure that will ensure that we have the intelligence capability to deal with conflicts on the ground wherever they exist."

One wonders if "wherever they exist" includes the national ID Drier was trying to slip in. This bill hadn't even been printed, much less read by anyone. The whole rush gives me heartburn.

I just got back from my daughter's school "Winter" recital...not a word of Christmass.

Now this...

I guess Kerry won the election after all.

"The new structure should help the nation's 15 intelligence agencies work together to protect the country from attacks..."

Will see. Or maybe we will not see. Probably will take at least five years of purging partesian polilitcos out of all the agencies, heaven knows how much re-organization from a structural, operational viewpoint, and vertical managment viewpoint, whatever. To think the 9/11 commission chaired and mostly old fogies and entrenced with liberal lawyers and a bunch of hurting families have forced something on us that may not turn out to be more of a hinderance then a blessing.
Guess time will tell. I think the congress is composed mostly of in-competent and self serving people who just found a way to make good money as apposed to holding down a real job. And quite frankly I have in the past six months or so lost a lot of respect for Admiral Leyman. He sounds like a gopher anymore.

You better be right Dreier. God help you and the Republican Party if you and the ones that voted on this bill today are wrong. Next year for immigration reform Dreier? I won't hold my breath.

All this, and we still don't know any more about Sandy Burglar and the stuffing in his drawers.

Like the Patriot Act, everyone demanded it, now the Libs bitch about it. Somebody is bound to have a problem with all this, but we're the ones footing the bill while they re-organize.

Imagine an overhaul at your local BMV and try to imagine the cluster**** going on.

This is an outrage. There is a modern vulgarity that applies which I shall not invoke; but, which is fitting to the description of what just happened. It's an outrage that these cowards paint this as some great achievement after functionally passing this measure as a bandaid and excuse to run and hide from the public under the pretense that they just did something useful. For years these folks have turned a blind eye to immigration illegalities because it profitted them to do so. Now they imagine themselves as dutiful protectors because they've put off addressing it again so they can escape the hatchet as it were and profit for another quarter while doing nothing. Who the Hell do they think they're fooling! I know what they THINK they're pulling over our eyes. But are they really so ignorant as to think that in the face of rising and evermore heated protest from both sides that anyone is going to stand by and quietly take this bunk? I note that the ivy-leaguers even here have largely shut up and gone into hiding. There is no place to hide.

The new structure should help the nation's 15 intelligence agencies work together to protect the country from attacks like the ones that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, lawmakers said.

Get a clue, you morons!! We don't need to shuffle the agencies around, we need to filter out the idiots in them and replace them with true patriots who will work to defend this country, not how much easy money they can make leaking reports to the media!

Re: G. Gordon Litty and his guest on Mondays show.

There are powerful lobbies against the US doing anything about illegal immigration.

One is the banking lobby. Banks stand to profit greatly by opening up new accounts for these immigrants. And the driver's licence will help them do it.

If DeMint and Toomey voted for it, it was probably wasn't that bad a bill. Unless they all of a sudden became sell-outs.

It's funny (not) how recommendations become mandates. Just a bunch of window dressing to cover their arses for when we get attacked again.
