If a FReeper needs a room, I have one available. I first got a room at the Howard Johnson Express at 600 New York Ave NE (at Florida) in DC for the nights of the 19th and 20th but then got a room at the Hawthorne Suite in Alexandria for the same nights. The rate is $127.43 for the two nights, plust taxes.
It's a king bed, smoking for two adults.
There must be a way to transfer the reservation. I've got a 24 hour prior cancellation on it and it's held with a CC.
I am going to maintain the reservation until a day or two before the ball.
Ah come on GRRRRRRRR (+/- a few R's)...You were part of the octet.

Merry Christmas to one and ALL!
My Alexandria brother passed away recently and his empty house (I call it the Ody J. Fish Memorial Home) isn't quite ready for sale yet.
It's just a few taxi miles from the Alexandria Metro, so that's part of how I'm affording this trip.
I don't have approval from the rest of the family for outside visitors yet, but it might be a last ditch crash pad for those FR brothers and sisters that can't find last minute accommodations.
The plumbing works and the furnishings are nothing but freshly sanded and finished floors, but it'll suit me just fine, in full temper with the media's perception of Dubya's cowboy/bunk house demeanor.
After the party, there's tough work ahead. Sleeping and waking up in a hard place is always a great motivation (at least for me).
Will post further if I get approval for visitors from the family, and will read my Freepmail thereafter.
