Well, I'll raise the question if no one else will. By "Mexican-American", does he mean that Peralta was a Mexican national illegally living in the US when he joined up? I'm sorry, but if so, that's a separate issue from the man's bravery. And it must be treated separately. The cost drain, alone, on CA almost demands an end to looking the other way at the influx of foreign nationals.

However, as for what he did, he was ambushed as a man who already placed himself in harm's way, and in order to defend our freedom. He saved other men in his company as his final act. I wonder if he might be awarded a posthumous MOH?

He certainly deserves to be honored and remembered for what he did in those critical moments. It was simple, egoless and brave to the point of literally giving his life. He was a hero! His name was - Sgt Rafael Peralta.
