What kind of bizarro occult practice is *that*?

Unfortunately, a practice I have had way too much experience dealing with. The idea is you walk in a circle around something (Church, house, property, etc) praying and 'casting out demons'. One of the church fights at the church my hubby grew up in ended with a group of people walking around the church building chanting prayers and shaking tambourines. It was strange, IMO. I think it is more of a charismatic thing and the church was more of a Reformed church.

NOT making judgments on the biblical basis of this nor on the spirituality of those involved, in my experience the people involved tended toward the self-righteous, slight off people in congregations. Just my experience with it.
