The growing clout of America's 100-million evangelical Christians is being heard loud and clear. Just turn on your radio, and you'll notice that a seismic shift in American culture is taking place.
Before, you could tune into different stations, which offered different music and different messages.
But now, as Correspondent Bob Simon reports on 60 Minutes Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. ET/PT,, evangelical Christian music is flowing into mainstream media -- and changing it. In fact, Christian entertainment now brings in $4 billion a year.
Rappers and rockers are making hits and making money while spreading the gospel to national audiences. Christian groups can be heard on secular radio and seen on "The Tonight Show." Earlier this year, the group Third Day even played at the Republican National Convention.
"The fact that there are Christian themes now emerging in rock and that Christians are in rock is just representative of a spiritual desire or a spiritual hunger in our culture," says Cameron Strang, publisher of Relevant Magazine, a religious publication.

Quite so. Personally if I were a Christian rock artist I would be a little bit pickier than that about what kind of compilations I licensed my stuff to, but if God's word is in there side by side with the raunch it is still guaranteed that it won't return void.
By the way how does one google for "POD" and get anything other than scads of references to whales and peas?
Perhaps they gave consent to be included on a compilation CD (or their record label did), but they may not have known the packaging.
It's still disturbing either way.
Google "Payable on Death" (which is what POD stands for)
ROTFL
CF,
I'm sure your a stand up guy, but do yourself and your kids a favor and wake up to this deception.
That POD would consent to being part of something like the collection I posted is proof that what they are doing is greiving to the Holy Spirit - they are not glorifying a Holy God.
Can't you see that???
Hey, I listen to Black Sabbath and Slayer...
I am soooooo going to Hell.
***but they may not have known the packaging.***
Then where's the record of their outrage and anger at being used by MTV in such a manner?
...silence...
It doesn't matter where their hearts are. What matters is where the heart of the listner is.
Read my Freepmail.

Are you a Christian?
Yes. Yes I am.
(I'm waiting for the inevitable "Those are Satan's bands")
I think we would have to know the history of how this came about before judging them too harshly. It would be unconscionable for them to okay this particular sexpot cover directly, but it could just be that their lawyers were't all that farsighted when they penned the contract and they can't make MTV back out of this one. But the ultimate joke will still be on the devil; he thinks he can kill Christ by smothering him in filth but Christ just rudely refuses to stay dead.

If you were married and I went around telling everyone behind your back that your wife was a slut and an airhead could we still be friends?
Well, I can't argue with that.
However, I've never heard of that group, and I've followed Christian music for a good long while.
That's the stupidest thing anyone on this thred has said.
But, I'm being deceived because I listen to "Black Sabbath" songs like After Forever...
Have you ever thought about your soul - can it be saved?
Or perhaps you think that when youre dead you just stay in your grave
Is God just a thought within your head or is he a part of you?
Is christ just a name that you read in a book when you were in school?
When you think about death do you lose your breath or
Do you keep your cool?
Would you like to see the pope on the end of a rope
Do you think hes a fool?
Well I have seen the truth, yes Ive seen the light and Ive changed my ways
And Ill be prepared when youre lonely and scared at the end of our days
Could it be youre afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
That God is the only way to love
Is your mind so small that you have to fall
In with the pack wherever they run
Will you still sneer when death is near
And say they may as well worship the sun?
I think it was true it was people like you that crucified christ
I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced
Will you be so sure when your day is near, say you dont believe?
You had the chance but you turned it down, now you cant retrieve
Perhaps youll think before you say that God is dead and gone
Open your eyes, just realize that hes the one
The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate
Or will you still jeer at all you hear? yes! I think its too late.
Only if referring to my first wife.
There is a wise caution... if you're saved, your soul can't be sent back to hell but your walk can be. Dirty lyrics would be the absolute line in the sand.
I have a large dream catcher in my house. It's been there for years.
To me, it's a collage of suede, feathers, and beads, and nothing more. I like the way it fills up the space on the wall in my rustic bedroom.
To a dear friend of mine (my old pastor's wife), it's something I need to remove from my home before it does something to me spiritually. (What, I'm not sure - and neither is she.)
To date, the dream catcher has not harmed me. I guess because I know what it is - a collage of suede, feather, and beads...and nothing more.
I think I'm seeing a similar dynamic on this thread.
