I don't understand what is the big deal. This hambuger is 2/3 pound. This same company (Carl's Jr.) has been selling a one pound "Six Dollar Burger" for some time.

Carl's Jr. is GREAT! I go there all the time when I'm in CA.But I just get a regular burger. One of those one-pounders is a walking heart attack. :-)

You are right. The big deal is a successful marketing campaign. Tweaking the "food nazi's" has bought them millions of dollars of free publicity.

By the way, I've eaten one of those "six dollar burgers" and it was pretty darn good. I wouldn't want to do that all the time, but right then and there it sure hit the spot!

Whnever I go to Wendy's, I order a Triple, which is 3/4 of a pound. Sure, the Hardee's burger has four strips of bacon as well, but I don't think it's so big that I couldn't eat it without skipping a beat.

Supersize? YUMMMMMMMMMMMM. I tried their new Pastrami Burger this weekend. It was filling. If you like thick hamburgers, CarlsJr/Hardee may be to your taste. On the hand if you're carb conscious, you may want to skip the buns and sauce.

No, The Six Dollar Burger is 1/2 pound of beef.

Applebees has a 1 lb burger called the New Yorker and it's pretty good.

I think Carl's, Jr. and Hardee's are one and the same. The Hardess on the East has that little star symbol for its logo, like CJ's.

One of my favorite independent restaurants still also has a one pound, single pattie burger. It's huge and awesome. Not that I could eat the whole thing in one meal and this was at a time when I could eat 2 dozen of the jumbo wings for lunch.

Like you said, "What's the big deal?"
