Compare this pic to the ones above, you can see the fire is DOWN very much over the prior pics...no info about sprinklers functioning OR if Firefighters are on the floor knocking the fire down from INSIDE? NO fire is seen breaking thru to the floor below and there is little smoke coming out at this time. G
People still calling for help from floors 26,27, 29, 30 and the roof.
IT looks to me like the fire has extended to the next upper floor. there is no more flame from the windows because air is being drawn in to feed the flames. I dont see any "white" smoke (steam) that tells me that the FD has water on it yet. Also, FYI, The fire codes in the city of Chicago dont require sprinklers in high rises, remember about a year ago there was a fire in a city building with a lot of lives lost?
The fire looks as if it has burned itsef out. Cna't burn down to the next floor, concrete floor, and fire travels up and across.
Looks to be contained in one office on the floor shown. Fire door going into the hallway keeping the fire contained to that unit.
If firefighters were putting water on the fire we would be seeing steam coming out the windows.
Thank you for the photo. Yes, the fire seems to have diminished from the prior photos. Thank you again.
