I called Walter Reed today. You can send phone cards directly to the attention of the Family Assistance Center at Walter Reed. The man I talked to send PLEASE don't send money, just send the phone cards and they will be distributed to injured patients. The address is Family Assistance Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Ctr., 6900 Georgia Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20307. The phone number is 202-782-2071.
Though donations through other organizations are sometimes tax deductible, part of you donation goes towards their costs. This way your phone card goes directly to a soldier.
