Caption: Tony Blair Christmas card [Where's the Christams?]

He is famous for his ever-so-slightly risqué black and white nudes and fashion photography. Now John Swannell has turned his lens on Tony and Cherie Blair - for their entirely non-controversial Christmas card. The world-renowned snapper, favoured by many celebrities, has the couple posing in relaxed, smart-but-casual mode under one of Chequers' Gothic-style arches.

Last year the Blairs had two cards - one official and one for family and close friends - but that has been dropped in favour of one simple card featuring just the two of them. But this year's is notable for the fact it carries no greeting whatsoever. Like one of those all-purpose ones you buy in the High Street, it is fit for any occasion. Just add your own message.

How about them not sending you a Christmas card since you're Jewish? I mean, I don't expect to get a "Happy Season" card from my Jewish friends on Passover.

I don't get it.

I don't get thinking that the administration should be into the business of researching their supporters' religious affiliation or possible lack thereof.

They could have at least had SNOW. No matter what your faith or demonination, we in the Northern hemisphere are experiencing WINTER during the holiday season.

No snow here, suns out after some light rain, flowers blooming, oranges on the trees...

What's the point of sending "season cards" to anyone?

If I lived in Israel and the administration sent me a "Happy Hanukah" card, I'd appreciate the thought. I'd prefer it to a "Happy Season" card.

I am quite happy to have gotten a Happy Holidays card

Anything that says "Happy Season" goes straight into the trash in our house. Stop the inanity.
