I've never thought much of Lincoln frankly, but I'm from the South... so I've got a biased view.

From my point of view, the civil war is equivalent to a few European countries wanting to leave the EU over some issue and Chirac going to war to stop them.

In that case, France would lose. I would love to see that happen. Ten years down the road, Germany is dissatisfied and decides to leave the EU. France says no. I would pay to see that!

My point of view may be biased but it was not the Union that lifted its hand against the South. The South did that by firing on the U.S garrison at Fort Sumter.
