1964 Palestinian Liberation Front formed.
These two dates are interesting. Jordan was supposed to be the land where displaced "Palestinians" were to be settled after the formation of Israel, or so I understand. This act of bombing the Jordanian Foreign Ministry was the work of the Palestinians that wanted to be in charge of Jordan. It is my belief that Yassar Arrafat wanted to be "King of Jordan", more than he cared about a Palestinian "homeland". The result of this bombing caused the Jordanians to mis-trust - and rightly so - the Palestinians that had settled in Jordan. Jordon put them in refugee camps and expelled others to live in refugee camps on the West Bank.
The forming of the Palestinian Liberation Front, the PLF, was Arafat's "Plan-B", after "Plan-A" failed to secure him the throne of Jordan. As well, Arafat was a very willing "tool" and exploiter of the largess of the Soviet Union. In short, one of the driving influences of Middle East problems, IMHO, was simply Arafat's ambitions.
One incident missing from your list is Yassar Arafat's 1994 Nobel Peace Prize. It's an act sybolic of the Western appeasement of Muslim Terrorism.

What is a man required to be to receive a Nobel Peace Prize? The answer is clear. A Terrorist!
