VIENNA (AFP) -- UN nuclear chief Mohamed ElBaradei angrily denied Saturday charges he had collaborated with Iran ahead of publishing written reports on his investigation of the Islamic Republic's controversial nuclear program.
"We never show a report to any single member" of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), "not the least of course an inspected country," ElBaradei said.
ElBaradei was reacting to news reports that he had heeded Iranian demands to drop mentions of IAEA requests to visit the Parchin military site and Iran's use of the sensitive material beryllium in a report he had made to the IAEA board in September.
AFP had in September quoted a U.S. official as saying ElBaradei had done this and there have been further such allegations in the media since then.
The United States wants the IAEA to take Iran to the UN Security Council for possible sanctions for what Washington says is a covert nuclear weapons program but ElBaradei says the "jury is still out" on whether Tehran's program is peaceful or not.
ElBaradei characterized as "gutter accusations" reports that he gives Iran advance looks at his reports, which are filed ahead of IAEA board of governors meetings that decide how tough the agency will be on Tehran over its nuclear program.
"We don't leak (special IAEA reports on Iran) to any single person outside the 10 or 20 people who are involved in the process," of drafting the text at IAEA headquarters in Vienna, ElBaradei said.
"We don't negotiate our report . . . at the end of the day not a single paragraph is shown to any single country until the report is out," ElBaradei said.
He said the IAEA did not "even discuss" the report ahead of time with Iran beyond technical requests for information.

"ElBaradei says the "jury is still out" on whether Tehran's program is peaceful or not."
That is colloboration with Iran. The jury is not out. The jury is in. Judge, jury, and executioner. The bailiff knows. The stenographer knows. The janitor knows. The defendent has of course known all along. Miss Betty Louis out in podunk knows. The only one on earth who keeps up the pretense that there is any uncertainty left in the matter, is the counsel for the defense. And he knows, too, he just lies for a living.
Everyone within the orbit of Mars knows Iran is seeking nuclear weapons. We are not brain dead, we are not infants. The only difference is whether one approves of this as a way of sticking a finger in the eye of the US, even at the expense of risking nuclear terrorism and with it modern civilization, or disapproves of it, for the obvious reason that it will get millions of innocent people killed, needlessly.

"We don't negotiate our report . . . at the end of the day not a single paragraph is shown to any single country until the report is out," ElBaradei said So, I suppose this means they pass it around so everybody has a look-see as a group? Coming from a member of the same group who oversaw the theft of billions of dollars from Iraq in the Oil for Food for Money scandal I wouldn't trust a single thing this guy has to say.

Perhaps it was just a little Pillow Talk with his Iranian wife! Who is Dr. Mohamed El Baradei? A quick Google search yields the following general biographical information:  Dr. ElBaradei is the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA], an inter-governmental organization based in Vienna, and formed under the auspices of the United Nations in 1957. He was appointed to the office effective Dec. 1 1997, and re-appointed to a second term in Sept. 2001.  El Baradi was born in Egypt in 1942. He gained a Bachelors degree in Law in 1962 at the University of Cairo, and a Doctorate in International Law at the New York University School of Law in 1974. He began his career in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1964, serving on two occasions in the Permanent Missions of Egypt to the UN in New York and Geneva. In 1980 he became a senior fellow in charge of the International Law Program at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the New York University School of Law.  Dr. El Baradei is married to Aida Elkachef, a kindergarden teacher at the Vienna International School. They have a daughter, Laila, a lawyer, and a son, Mostafa, a sound engineer, both of whom live and work in London, England. But perhaps the most telling information about the good doctor is found at the Italian website, http://web.tiscali.it/iranian/Notizia%20arch001/15092004c002.htm [NOTE: You must use search words Alberadi il Presidente di AIEA, for the Google search to bring back a hit on this site. If you cant read Italian, Google will translate the site into English.]  This site describes El Baradis wife as an Iranian, and a first cousin of Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani, one of the "brains" of the Iranian regime and close associate of the tyrant Khomenei. In the article by Dr. Kameran Pirnia, he states ...Baradei cannot be neutral toward Iran" because of his wife relationship to Mahdavi Kani. A further Google search reveals that Mahdavi Kani heads up the Iranian Militant Clerics Association, one of the main political groups in Irans Theo-Nazi government.
