The number of disabled veterans can increase even if you don't have a war going on simply because many veterans manage to grow older despite the best efforts of the Liberals who try to tax and spend them to death.

Currently the WWII generation, the largest group of veterans, is moving into it's 80s ~ they are rapidly becoming more disabled every day and many of them have friends and relatives making sure they qualify.

You make a good point. I stand corrected. I was referring, although I didn't realize it or articulate it at the time, to veterans disabled directly by enemy action, not by aging.
