Tom Wolfe, novelist and perceptive chronicler of all things cultural, is the author scheduled for December's edition of C-Span's first-Sunday-of-the-month "In-Depth", set for tomorrow between noon and 3:00 PM EST. Wolfe will be discussing his works and responding to call-ins and e-mails. Should be an engrossing and entertaining three hours.....

Wonder if he'll wear his special white suit......

Thanks for the reminder - I would have hated to miss it. TW, who supported Bush, said of Lurch, "No need to worry about Kerry; he doesn't believe in anything."

When I got my Ph.D., Tom Wolfe was the commencement speaker. My family and I all thought he was terrific (he bashed a few stupid liberal "multicultural" attitudes and took some shots at Noam Chomsky) but a lot of the faculty and some of the students hated his speech. T.S.!!

... a lot of the faculty and some of the students hated his speech. T.S.!!...interesting that during the interview Wolfe attributed his reputation as a conservative to his bashing of so many liberal absurdities rather than to any specific conservative agenda - given his comment that he began wearing his white suit so often because it "annoyed" people, I'm guessing that he might have been happy that so many at your graduation hated his speech......
