I went and got my own little machine back when all the hubbub was going on, works just great, cost $29.95 and will go with me wherever I go meaning I don't have to call every time I get a new number. What 'machine' are you talking about?

There are all kinds of them out there that do different things, some basic like Telezapper and some more involved with lots of options but they cost more. You hook them to the phone line and an electric outlet.
