Great post in that it lead me to David Brooks's article on John Stott. I already think Brooks is terrific but his article underscored something I hear from Messianic Jews (it takes a Jew to really understand Jesus).

However, the article by Jay Nordlinger was so long winded and drifting that I dozed off before I got to the end.

I was impressed with the description of Stott and went to get one of his books today.

However, I, too, was distressed by the obligatory criticism of Falwell--he's one of those whipping boys of the left and he's not a bad old boy--not to everyone's taste but, who is?
