Yes, my father was class of 1961, he however joined the Air Force as the AFA had not yet opened when he was selected to the Point.

His last duty at the Pentagon where he died at a very young 45 years and now resides in Arlington Cemetery, facing the Pentagon. While some may not understand what I am about to say, but, I think dad would have loved residing under a weeping willow near the shores of the Gulf. He did indeed deserve his final resting place. At least he can roll back over after Clinton left the building.

Give your husband a friendly salute from brat, former AD and now wife of a wonderful Army artillery officer, whose VA Tech Hokies beat Miami. yahoooo

My husband took his commisssion in USAF also,
because he was in the USNA class of '58.

God bless your father.
He certainly earned his place in Arlington,
but I agree wuth you about the weeping willows
near the Gulf... an ideal resting place.

VA Tech beat Miami! WOO-HOO is right!

One of my closest friends was in the last class at the USNA who was allowed to join the AF as there was not an AFA (or maybe no graduating class) when he graduated...he retired from the AF as a Colonel...great guy! and of course, since i worked for the AF for 19 years and my dad retired from the AF after 26 years I ALWAYS ROOT FOR THE AF....though their season sucked this year!
