Army-Navy Game Live Thread

Posted on 12/04/2004 11:42:40 AM PST by MIT-Elephant

If anyone's interested, we can toss our observations of the Army-Navy game around...not about the game, but about all the little things that really pi** off Blue America.

Case in point. They had a prayer in a public stadium between two public schools. Then - boy, will they hate this - George W. Bush himself came out to toss the coin.

I went to the game last year, with a friend who's USMA '00. It was a blizzard the day before, and the cadets were an hour late marching in, and it wasn't much of a football game...but the whole scene was amazing.

Stone Giant, you may jive with my impression that this is the last moment of innocence for senior cadets. After this comes 100th Night, branch night, and commission.

These skits are hilarious. But why does CBS' broadcast have so many dang commercials?

Yes, he is and he is doing a great job already.

Even if we don't win today, Bobby is charging up the players and fans alike!!!

I was able to hear him at the Quarterback Luncheon on thursday and he really is very very good.

Neets,

I don't know if you've heard of the Black Lion award, but Bobby Ross began giving it this season. It was created in the honor of Don Holleder by a coaching friend of mine.

You can read about it here:

McCain always finds a way to get his face in front of the camera, doesn't he?

What a pathetic loser!

Yes I did MIT...Bobby talked about that on Thursday.

I practically gave up on the Good Ole Army team, these past few years...but I like him, his inspiration, his motivation (NOT $$$$$$$$$) and his drive!!!

It's all about SPIRIT and DETERMINATION.

I really, REALLY like this guy.

Just curious, but is there any significance to the unit patches on the collars of the cadets' and midshipmens' jerseys?

I wouldn't think that the cadets (especially the undergrads) would have unit assignments this early, so I'm guessing it's random, but maybe someone around here knows more.

GO ARMY BEAT NAVY

The Black Knights football team stands united on the steps of Washington Hall, while the U.S. Military Academy's Commandant Brig. Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti, fires up the new 'USMA' spirit chopper during the annual Army/Navy send off on Friday, Dec. 3. The team boarded buses headed for Philadelphia where Army will battle it out against Navy for the 105th time. The game, played at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Dec. 4, airs nationally on CBS with kickoff at 2:30 EST. (Photo by Leslie Gordnier/PAO)

Great pic of the Prez!!!!!

The next picture on the thread of the Army Cheerleaders reminds me of all of the time that Paul Begala has chortled about the fact that President Bush was a cheerleader in college. Do you see guys in that picture, I do too and I bet they have a better chance of becoming president than Begala ever will!!!!!

Go, Troops

beat terrorists!!!!!!!!!!!
