Third time's a charm: How the recount will work
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
On Monday, Secretary of State Sam Reed will officially order a statewide hand recount of votes cast in the Washington governor's race. Here is how it will work:
THE WARMUP: Counties will need to hire and train temporary workers to recount the ballots by hand. Of course, they'll be competing against malls and other stores for seasonal workers.
THE COUNTERS: Three-person teams will do the work, with two people counting the ballots and one recording the votes.
King County elections officials plan to hire 160 temporary workers, 80 recommended by the Republican Party and 80 recommended by the Democratic party. Each three-person team will consist of one Democrat, one Republican, and one county elections worker. Other counties plan to do the same.
THE PUBLIC: The hand recount is open to observers and members of the public, just as the original vote-counting and the first recount were.
THE TIMELINE: The hand recount should finish by Dec. 23. That's the estimate from King County, which has the most ballots to count and plans to have workers recounting votes seven days a week.
THE CONTROVERSY: The big question is whether the recount will include "new" votes - ballots that were not counted the first two times, for various reasons. The state Democratic Party announced plans Friday to go to court over that issue.
WILL IT EVER END? This is the final recount allowed by state law. The winner of this recount will be the governor. But court action could complicate the ending. The inauguration is scheduled for Jan. 12.
On recount in King County Dems took ballots that were rejected by machine and interpreted who they voted for which amounted to about 750 new votes.
Now they want to go thru previously rejected provisional ballots, this is not a recount it's fishing for votes.

Hence, stealing the election. They got a liberal Judge in King County to allow ballots which were dis-allowed originally for very good reasons. The Democrats brought the courts into this at the start! This whole thing is a disaster by Democrats! Rossi won the election. Rossi won the recount (even with all the shenanigans the dems pulled off). If this whole thing was reversed, I would demand that my Candidate concede. As it is, my Candidate WON! TWICE! This is just another of many reasons why I am now a Republican, after 20 years of being a Democrat!
DEMS MOTTO ; COUNT ALL THE VOTES UNTIL WE WIN
Particularly, as it regards tight elections.
Visions of Florida! I remember the night of the election, Bush had like a 60,000 ballot lead over Gore. I worked for the next 3 days an the next time I looked at the news Bush's lead was down to like 3000 votes. Little by little the RATS counting in back rooms kept throwing out Bush's votes and tallying up more for Gore. And destroying all the military ballots. This seems like the same thing. GGGRRRRR Where is Rossi in all this it seems all I hear is from the infuriating Dems. I hope Rossi's got some great GOP lawyers there, cause these RATS are licking their chops in anticipation of stealing this one!
First Dino won by 261 votes - not valid. Then Dino won by 42 votes. Not a win. So now if Cheating Chrissy wins by 5 votes it's OK? Unbelievable
If they don't get the rejected ballots involved in the count, it won't matter, Dino will still win.
If they do, they probably will win, but man oh man is that going to be a legal nightmare.
Well, do the WA Republicans have a plan if the Democrats win this election by "interpreting" more ballots?
It seems to me the election officials that did so in the previous recount should currently be in jail...
All that matters with a lot of lefties are feeling . . . If she feels she won the election, it must be so.
I have to quit watching this circus by Jan 31 -that's when the Michael Jackson trial starts..can you ping me if it drags on later than that..lol

This liberal judge ruled against the state constitution and allowed the disallowed votes. Judicial activism is taking this country down. We need to have judges subject to the same law as electing representatives. Maybe then they would begin to see the logic to ruling on the rule of law which is the will of the people and not establishing law from the bench. The black robe is beginning to signify the death of democracy.
Many judges in Washington State are elected. It is time to take names and toss out these liberal judges at the ballot box so they can no longer play legislator.
If the ballots have not been kept under lock and key and armed guard since the last count, the next count will show a Demonrat win.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Toss out liberal judges in King County! Riiigggghhhhttt....
That's a good one.
Sounds like a violation of the equal protection provision of the Constitution to me.
Whose bright idea is this? Is this what state law dictates? A hand recount is less accurate than a machine count. Rossi won the count and the first recount. In my universe, if he loses the second recount he's still governor because he won two out of three.
Judicial activism is an act of war upon the people and should be punished by death.
This makes me sick.
Secty. of State, Sam Reed, is saying that Locke will have to remain in office until his successor is elected & sworn in....sheesh! Talk about a lame duck, Locke's about as lame as you can get. He chose not to run for re-election because he was convinced that he'd lose. If Locke didn't think the Seattle liberals would vote him back in for a third term, who would have imagined that they'd vote for Gregroire? The woman is an incompetent who cost the state at least 20 million on a single bungled case. She's pathetic.
