In the pacific war, fighting, defeating, and ending the war with the Japanese was just a matter of time after Germany had surrendered. The end would have come maybe ? 1 or 2 more years later after Germany surrendered ( I am just on a hunch or a guess it would have ended in 1946 or 47 ) However ? not only Truman wanted to protect the Constitution, but, he wanted to bring a quick end to the war in the pacific.
Truman got pre invasion estimate reports that many American lives would be lost trying to take the Japanese Island, and Truman was not going to have that.
Truman used the Atomic bomb to save possibly millions of American lives.
Passed wars ( without political correctness , mainly WWII ) our military leaders and civil leaders did NOT put the lives of civilian enemies before our fighting troops. Our military leaders and civilian leaders put the lives of our troops before our enemies troops and enemies civilian populations.
If we continue with PC correctness, not only our country will be weakened on the inside, but, our military resolve with be made to non effect in the future. That is exactly what our enemies want us to do, to " TIP TOE THROUGH THE TULIPS " or " WALK LIGHTLY ON EGG SHELLS " in any of our military endeavorers.
