“Parents in Maine’s Scarborough School District say that efforts to ban Christmas have become so extreme that they now refer to Christmas as the new ‘C-word.’ In nearby New Hampshire, things aren’t any better. For example, the principal of Epping Elementary School boasts that his school raises money for the needy, ‘but we don’t call it a Christmas gift drive,’ and that’s because ‘it’s a time for giving and that’s pretty much universal.’ But if that’s the case, why choose December as the gift-giving month? Similarly, why is December ‘a time for giving’? His counterpart at Newfields Elementary is so wound up about Christmas that he actually said, ‘we’ve tried to distance ourselves from religion and world events.’ No doubt he’s been a smashing success.

“North Carolinians are no strangers to the ‘C-word,’ either. At a recent Charlotte-Mecklenberg school meeting of parents, Rose Hamid, who heads a group called Muslim Women of the Carolinas, expressed her enthusiasm for censoring ‘Silent Night’ in the schools. She won. ‘Joy to the World’ was similarly banned, though apparently the parents were stumped on what to do about ‘Jingle Bells’: some said it was okay, but others were smart enough to say that the song is still linked to Christmas.

No ulterior motives here! From those wonderful folks who have made televised beheadings so popular.

Ban Christmas? Huh? Look, Christians, it is time to just igore those politically correct fools, and go forward with your celebrations. When it comes election time, vote them out of office! Period.

I just now came back from our main building lobby. There is a big "Happy Holidays" sign and underneath it are about 15 or 20 foreign language expressions.

Of the 4 or 5 I could read, none used a word for "holiday".

I'm tempted to add one in Middle English.

With this kind of crap from libs and especially the islamfacists in our communities, we really need to stand up and be counted. Put these anti-christians in their place and find a way to really control and admonish them. If they don't like the Lord God then they can certainly get the next plane to Abandon Iran.

I went into the Rite-Aid drugstore by my house today to look at Christmas ornaments -- which were all labelled Happy Holidays (instead of Merry Christmas). There was a Holiday Church, a Holiday Angel, etc. I was so disgusted I did not buy anything.

I HATE this. Is there another planet nearby where I can go? I want to get off.

I read in the WSJ that the Federated stores had negative growth for the Thanksgiving Day kick off of the Christmas shopping season. I have have been thinking of calling the local store and telling that they shouldn't be surprised that Christmas sales are down when they don't even celebrate Christmas.

Whenever someone says "Happy holidays" to me I respond with my new tagline.

Dear All,

Thank you for your responses.

To all who are Christmas shopping and who extend to store clerks a Merry Christmas: If you are informed by the clerk that they are not allowed to return the greeting, ask for the store manager, voice a complaint and ask for the address of the main office to complain about the policy of intolerance from the enterprise.

Join in the fight against the ACLU. Yes, oppose the activist judge appointments by staying informed. Become vocal through phone calls, letters and spreading of the information.

Inform building owners, doctors offices, etc., that you wish to see tolerance displayed towards your faith by seeing, not a Seasons Greetings banner, but by recognition through words of what this holiday is: Christmas.

Good luck to all.

We MUST be up for the challenge, for if we are not, we have no one to blame but ourselves for the contempt with which we are treated.
