Self-styled "conservatives" who reflexively blame the "religious right" for the GOP schism on the issue of abortion want the issue to go away by removing the pro-life plank from the GOP platform. This colludes with a secularist social agenda that devalues life and denies the Judeo-Christian moral basis of our society, our traditions and our Constitution. In truth, these people couldn't care less about the sanctity of innocent human life or the violence abortion inflicts on the human conscience. They selfishly see it as a nettlesome hindrance to their blindly self-centered goals. Just like the communists (and unlike our Founders), they believe man is his own moral compass. If you google this under "remove the pro-life plank" or "libertarian position on abortion," you can spend all day reading about their cherished vision of marginalizing God and those on the right who believe, as the Founding Fathers did, that no scheme of government will work without obedience to God.
That's a generalization.

Again, a generalization not based on fact.
Just like the communists (and unlike our Founders), they believe man is his own moral compass.
See my first two comments above.
Social conservatives have to realize that they're not the only members of the GOP. Of course, it's a self-fulfilling prophesy. If social conservatives act that way, they'll soon find that they ARE the only members of the GOP.
