Its practice offers a multitude of psychological rewards, both short and long-term. Its main value is in painting your current adversary with the worst characteristics you fear are in you yourself, so that you yourself don't have to indentify and confront them in yourself. At the same time, utilizing the sneaky practice of "misdirection" you are calling everyone's attention to the adversary and his evil ways, thereby drawing everyone's attention away from yourself and your evil ways.
