There have been 400 deer collisions in this region so far this year, 3 deaths. Think about what that does to insurance premiums costs. There are just too many deer around, due to a decline of hunters. This is no good to both deer, as they tend to starve to death during severe winters, plus it causes a population explosion of predators like coyotes and wolves, whose numbers increase proportional to food supply. I've seen a few deer with a hunk of hind bitten off, but somehow managed to get away, only to suffer and starve later.
Hunting is a good, and cheap conservation method. It funds conservation officers as well, so taxpayers don't have to.
These anti- hunter types just don't think about the cost and effects of their actions. Hunting helps keep deer herds healthy as well.
Most of the anti-hunter types think the meat, if they eat it at all, is grown in cellophane.
Kill It & Grill It was a great book!
