Gary Owen bump from a retired 3/7 CAV officer.
The battle of Fallujah will add more glory to a regiment with a long and honorable history.
Words cannot describe how proud we old-timers are of the fine job our troopers are doing.
Gary Owen!

Infantry/Marine! What a letter to your friends - everywhere! I'm passing it on. Want to see your photos.
RE: drug find, drugged-up 'insusrgents.'This is nothing new. The Arabs have always been in conflict with neighboring peoples. Centuries ago, the sheik married all the likely girls himself, leaving the poor, unmarried man with no prospects and nothing to do. The very word assassin comes from the Arabic hashishim. Drug 'em up and send 'em off to kill and die, promise 'em 72 virgins in paradise, get rid of any unsurrection or competition.

Now that it's over, there is a lot of things that people back home should know. First of all, every citizen of Fallujah (non-insurgent) is getting $2,500 USD (that's a lot over here) to fix up their house or buy new things that may have been destroyed in the fighting. Insurgents took up positions in resident's houses so we were forced to destroy a lot of buildings. There is over $100 million dollars ready to be spent to re-build the city. Time to build a 'Home Depot' in Fallujah...(and maybe a Wal-Mart Super Center...)

To all: I have a contact in Sadr City (a captain) and asked if I could give him a subscription to something that he could read, and share with his men, like Sports Illustrated, "Mad," Or a particular comic book. (Hey, I know these guys aren't dumb, but sometimes you just want to get your mind out of the real world). Anyway, he said a subscription to SI would be much appreciated, as they guys like keeping up with the sports back home. So that's what he (and his men) get for Christmas from our family.
You might consider a subscription as a gift. Last year, I donated all the remainder of my Marvel comic collection to "gift bags" going over to Iraq. I'm sure these guys get lots of soap and "handi-wipes," but let's think about their entertainment/emotional well being, too.

Thanks! You guys have the support of every true American, (about 61 million).
... came across the dead bodies of fighters from Chechnya, Syria, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Afghanistan, and so on -- no, this was not just a city of pissed off Iraqis, mad at the Coalition for forcing Saddam out of power. It was a city full of people from all over the Middle East whose sole mission in life was to kill Americans.
What the protesters don't understand or believe is that either you guys stop them over there, or we will be fighting them on our doorsteps here, literally. Even so, we may have to fight thousands of sleepers here.

One fighter came running out of a building that our tanks set on fire -- he was on fire and still shooting at us. As our Sergeant Major said, "going up against tanks and brads with an AK-47, you have to admire their effort!" I assume the Sergeant Major was referring to their efforts at snorting cocaine! These guys are cowards and could only do things like that coked up.
