Perhaps I missed it, but I can't seem to find on this thread, or in the article, and elucidation of just what Gonzales' ties to La Raza are or were, and when.

There aren't any, except that LaRaza endorsed him.

Not according to the original post on this thread:

"Alberto Gonzales served with distinction on the board of directors of one of NCLR's oldest and most respected affiliates , the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) in Houston, Texas. Moreover, during his tenure as White House Counsel, he has been one of the most accessible members of the White House staff to NCLR and other Hispanic organizations."

David Duke endorsed Ronald Reagan in 1980, so that must have made Ronald Reagan a member of the KKK.

Do you have a source or a link for that? I honestly don't recall David Duke endorsing Ronald Reagan in 1980. In fact, I don't remember David Duke being on the national radar screen back in 1980. Where did you get your information on that?

See how that works?

Even if your claim that David Duke endorsed Ronald Reagan back in 1980 were true, it would not equate with Alberto Gonzales serving on the board of directors of one of NCLR?s oldest affiliates and being one of the most accessible members of the White House staff to NCLR.

I don't know too much about Mr. Gonzales, but if it is true that he has ties to a racist organization it should be a cause for concern, and I don't see how it would equate to a candidate being endorsed by a racist with whom he has no ties and over who's endorsement he has no control.

What evidence is there that Gonzales has ever done anything for La Raza, either as Bush's attorney when he was Governor, as a Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, or as Presidential Counsel?

This frenzy about Alberto Gonzales is a red herring put up by the paranoids around here who think every Mexican wants to refight the battle of San Jacinto.
