What Killed Arafat?
Men's News Daily ^ | 2 December 2004 | Nicholas Stix

After Arab terrorist Yassir Arafat died on November 11, USA Today, among other outlets, talked about how "enraged" the Arabs in the territories in Israel were. You may ask, "How could they be enraged?" USA Today supplied no answer at the time, but I can. Many of Arafat's supporters have spread the blood libel that the Mossad, in league with some of Arafat's own goons, poisoned him. All over again, "The Jews did it!"

Hamas leader Khaled Mesha'al said, "I do not hesitate accusing Israel of killing Yasser Arafat and I call on my brothers in Fatah and in the PNA not to keep silent in this regard."

Meanwhile, Arafat's widow, Suha, has run off with his French medical records, and her lawyer has made the fantastic claim that Arafat's French hospital and doctors have no other copies. Mrs. Arafat clearly does not want the truth known. Supporters of Israel's right to exist have a rumor of their own, as to how Arafat died, which is more likely than the Arab blood libel: AIDS. Supporters of Israel have long claimed that Arafat was a homosexual, arguing that that was why his now loving, bereaved widow had long stayed as far from him as possible, consoling herself in her estrangement from her husband and the couple's "people" with million-dollar shopping sprees in Europe's swankiest department stores. A less satisfying explanation, for Arafat's enemies, is that the man who ruthlessly sacrificed young Arabs on homicide bombing attacks, had no intention of permitting the violence he had unleashed to touch his own family. Yet another, more commonly held theory, is that Arafat died of cirrhosis of the liver, which if true, would strongly suggest that Arafat was an alcoholic.

Note that homosexuality and drinking are terrible sins in Islam (though what, pray tell, outside of killing "infidels" isn't?).

(In a particularly vitriolic, intolerant, delightful rant, "Firehat" (Norman Liebmann) quipped, "It's still not known what Arafat died of except that his nurses had to get into moon suits to take his temperature with a thermometer affixed to a robotic arm.")

With a little white-out, some photocopying, a typewriter and a skilled forger, I'm sure Mrs. Arafat can come up with a "useful" cause of death. But why bother? We're talking about people whom you can't trust to give you the correct time of day, and now they're going to do their imitation of CBS News?

Meanwhile, the French have done their part for the Arabs, by lying on Arafat's death certificate, in claiming that he was born in Jerusalem, when he was, in fact, born in, and largely raised in Cairo.

When I lived in Tuebingen, West Germany, there was a group of some 20 wealthy Arab students from Tunisia, in North Africa. Virtually none of them studied, preferring to pass the time engaging in promiscuity (exclusively with white, Western women, with whom they were obsessed, even as they held them in contempt), heavy drinking, and gambling. It's a wonder they didn't cause an outbreak of venereal disease.

Corrupt Leader, Pure People?

The most important thing to keep in mind, regarding the so-called Palestinians and their late leader, is that they were of one mind. The socialist mainstream media (SMSM) maintain that the chances for peace are better with Arafat gone, but no evidence supports such Pollyannaism, while there is good reason to scoff at it. Following Arafat's death, Western reporters interviewed "Palestinians" on the street, who demanded that Arafat's wish be granted to be buried in Jerusalem, on the holiest site of world Judaism, no less, the Temple Mount, home of the ancient temples. An older woman said that but of course, his wish must be granted, because he was after all, "the president."

President of what? Yassir Arafat was the head of the terrorist organizations known as the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Palestinian Authority, Fatah, and their various subsidiaries, such as the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade. His main presidential acts consisted of ordering the murder of a couple of thousand Jews, including babies, women, and old people, and stealing billions of dollars in welfare money from the U.S. and European countries that was earmarked for the support of his precious "people."

You always have to translate the doubletalk with these people. Yes, "these people." For the Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians" are bound to each other by a mass psychosis (a mass psychosis that, when you get down to it, is barely distinguishable from the one afflicting other Arabs). Within their psychotic world, Arafat was the president of Israel. For the Arabs in question, "Palestine" means Israel. For those readers unfamiliar with this malady, let me recall an incident from 1991 in lower Manhattan.

I went into an Arab deli for a German beer. In place of the usual, polite counter clerk, who was in his thirties, was an Arab boy of perhaps 18. The boy immediately identified me as a Jew (which ain't hard to do). Instead of simply taking my money and bagging my beer, he launched into a lecture. "Rocks against tanks!" he proclaimed, referring to the practice of pre-Oslo Arab child-terrorists, who lacked guns and bombs, throwing rocks at Israeli tanks, soldiers, and civilians. (The 1993 Oslo accords were yet another exercise in Arab duplicity, in which Arafat signed a peace agreement with Israel which he never intended to follow, and which he immediately violated.) He pulled a neck chain out of his shirt, from which hung a tiny ornament in the shape of Israel. "You see this? This is Palestine." "No, that is Israel, and if I have to go there myself to kill you, I will."

(Today, Arab terrorists in Israel variously use Arab children as human sacrifices with bombs, get them shot by Israeli soldiers for the sake of anti-Semitic public relations, use them to transport explosives, and have turned them into the tiniest terrorists -- rocket-firing sociopaths.)

Of course, this was all so much bravado. If he were ready to fight, he wouldn't be standing guard at a counter off Union Square, lecturing those notoriously wimpy New York Jews. (Israeli Jews would have made him eat his "Palestine" ornament.) And at the age of 33, I wasn't about to fly off to Israel to serve in the IDF. Besides, at the time, I probably couldn't even cover one-way airfare.

More doubletalk. One night in late 2000, just after Arafat started his current guerilla war, I ran into one of those Arab marches "against the violence in the Mideast," as the local reporters and anchors called them. In fact, they were all anti-Israel marches in support of the terrorism.

I joined the march, in order to talk to the sloganeers. One fellow told me that he was a relative of the man whose wife and children had recently been killed in the family car by an Israeli rocket attack. The IDF had thought that the husband was in the car alone, but he wasn't there.

The man was saying what a terrible thing the killing was. Since I lacked Arab-style chutzpah, I didn't have the nerve to ask him if he thought that deliberately murdering Jewish women and children was a terrible thing. Besides, sometimes you have to shut up, if you want to let people indict themselves with their own words.

The man said that he didn't want to take over all of Israel, just "Palestine" -- from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

My geography wasn't so good, so I had to wait until I got home, to check out what the land from the Jordan to the Mediterranean covered. It was all of Israel!

For over thirty years, the Arab schoolbooks in the territories, whose contents were determined by Arafat, have denied the existence of Israel. Their maps show "Palestine" on the site of Israel. Arafat insisted that there never was a Jewish temple, let alone two, on the site of the Temple Mount. He said the land was always Muslim. Never mind, that Judaism began in the Holy Land 4,000 years ago, while Islam has only been around for 1,400 years.

You cannot negotiate with murderous, pathological liars. You can kill them, be killed by them, or somehow neutralize them (as with the fence). But negotiations are a waste of time, energy, and good will, and only serve to make one vulnerable. Which, of course, is the point.
