I'm sure the women wouldn't mind at all.
I think Saudi women have more important things to concentrate on for the present. One of them is to insist their names be heard in public. Currently, the social norm is that uttering a females name in public is taboo. That is why all Saudi wedding cards that are distributed to male guests say, We would like to invite you to the marriage of the young man so and so to the daughter of so and so. Her name is never mentioned. Her name being mentioned to men is a taboo.
Saudi women know that. Yet that custom exists. Wouldnt fighting for her own name to be heard be better at this stage?
Imagine how hard it will be for a female politician to campaign for office if it is forbidden to utter her name?
Heck, if it wasn't for women, Bill Clinton would not have won his elections. Something to ponder....
Unbelievable! Arab culture is so backward--still living in the Stone Age.
Not that I like to side with a sand goblin, but there's some truth to this.
The first thing women did in the US upon getting the vote was back Prohibition. And we all know about those besotted soccer moms who kept turning out for Dirty Billy.
Perhaps women need to own property in a red-state ZIP code before getting franchised. That would probably do.
;-)
Mohammed said,"After me I have not left any affliction more armful to men than women." Qu'ran 7:33
-AND-
Qu'ran.. Volume 4, Book 54, Number 516) Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "If anyone of you rouses from sleep and performs the ablution, he should wash his nose by putting water in it and then blowing it out thrice, because Satan has stayed in the upper part of his nose all the night."
Widely believed and followed.... and its TRUE too as far as I can tell.. but cleanup is hard when there is no water.. or even if their is water.. No wonder when Sadaam was captured they were looking up his nose... talk about a spider hole..
Hey! At least the arabs have some good sense! Keep the babes home barefoot and pregnant!
Oh yeah ... make sure they can at least cook.
