There is not a more profound point in Texas history than these two events placed side by side to emphasize the importance of duty and honor, even if it's the last thing you do on this earth. Men who willingly give there lives in a great effort are immortalized, while those whose lives are taken (while just as brave and tragic) are usually forgotten.
